Raf has just released a new version of Links2 web browser, the first version that is a standalone release (seperate from PSPRadio). Links2 is an outstanding new homebrew browser, based off of an open source Linux web browser, with support for many of the PSP's real browser functions (Javascript, etc). Good work Raf, the more Internet browsing options there are, the better!
Features/fixes in Standalone r1090 include (including the old plugin with PSPRadio):
- Updated code to take advantage of changes to newlib (for pipes/file descriptors/sockets).
- Cleaned up the code to make it easier to update when a new version of retawq is available.
- Browser ported to PSP. PSPRadio plugin created. Using version 2.1pre20 with utf8 patch. Using SDL SW Surfaces for graphics.
- Dithertable is now saved to file, if file is found (now provided), the it's loaded instead of generated (this speeds up startup from over 1min to seconds). danzeff SDL library used for OSK. Thanks, Danzel.
- Screenshot can be taken pressing SELECT. Use File->Switch to PSPRadio to go back to PSPRadio. Then select the plugin again to get back to Links2.
- SMB support is completely removed to free more memory.
- Removed support for all languages except english to free more memory.
- Removed japanese font to free more memory.
- Use lite danzeff OSK now (no transparencies) to free memory.
- Version reported includes the subversion revision now.
