New Neuros Recorder Firmware Coming Soon!

Just a few days ago, Neuros Technology officially announced problems with the new firmware 2.7 for PSP with the Neuros Recorder 2, a device which converts and copies video/TV straight into the PSP, due to new MP4 headers slyly introduced by Sony in the new firmware. Not only was this issue affecting PSPs from properly recieving data, but also, all recorded MP4s using Recorder 2 before you upgraded to the new firmware would no longer work on your PSP. Neuros has just now informed us all that in the coming days a new firmware will be released for the Recorder 2, which will alleviate those problems introduced in firmware 2.7, and will add a few additional features to the device. Yay!

New features coming in soon-to-be-released firmware:
- New recording resolution: QCIF and QVGA @ 15 frames/s (for smartphones, most can not handle QVGA @ 30 fps).
- You now can record QVGA with a fine and superfine setting (it used to be limited to economy and normal because of the PSP limitations. PSP can not playback files encoded above 768kbps from a memory stick). That means iPod owners will be able to playback files recording at higher bit rates.
- A new file structure (work in progress) as Neuros want to make sure users are aware of the limitations of their own devices.

Check out more information about the new firmware here.
