No, what this does is add a whole 2nd flash to your psp. So say you have this on your 2.71, at the start up screen if you hold L I belive it will take you the flash replacement. So it allows you to use a whole seperate flash on your psp.

Ex. You start your psp and hold L, it now allows you to use your custome firmware to run isos and unsigned eboots. If you restart your psp and do not hold L you are now back to your 2.71's flash and can use all the psps features..
