The site was unaccessible from 1 AM EST to 8:30 AM EST on June 21st, 2006 due to a malicious comprimise of the MySQL databases on our dedicated server. Fortunately, and unfortunately, this attack was aimed directly at PSP3D.com, as none of the other MySQL databases for the plethora of other sites hosted on the server were harmed. If you tried to access the site in the above mentioned timeframes, you would have seen a notice that read "There is a problem with the PSP3D database." Rest assured that all is fixed at the moment, and additional protection on our MySQL databases has been added to prevent further attempts at bringing the site down. We were able to recover one of the server's hourly backups of PSP3D.com (the one right before the attack), and seamlessly upload the error-free tables to the site. Had there not been a backup, the time required to fix this attack would have been disastrous. Furthermore, we recovered logs of the attack which pointed to a few suspects who we believe were involved with the attack. At PSP3D.com, we show no sympathy for such attackers, and will investigate and prosecute them to the full extent of law in the United States.
