Firmware 2.5/2.6 Kernal Mode Exploitation Found!

Probably the biggest news of yesterday/today would have to be release of the first 2.5/2.6 firmware exploitations by hitchhikr and Neural. Although currently at proof-of-concept stage (meaning nothing useable for running kernal-mode (or any other kind of hombrew) yet), this is a prooven exploitation in the firmware, which is currently being investigated by nearly all the major developers of the scene (including Fanjita, developer of eLoader) to be utilized for running kernal-mode homebrew via the "noKXploit method".

Once fine tuned, expect this finding to allow 2.5 and 2.6 firmware users to reap the same benefits of firmware 1.5 PSP owners. The biggest questions at the moment are "when will a new version of eLoader be released?" and "will the implementation of this exploit be successful, even though developers are having such a hard time putting it to use?" Unfortunately, all the information is a mess right now, but we'll keep you up to date on the latest news as soon as it's released!

Check out more information at hitchhikr's official site here.
