Yes, you heard it right! Sony's plans to bring all PS1 games to the PSP, via a pay-per-download online game store originally announced at E3 2006 (see our
E3 2006 coverage report for more information), are actually materializing. Sony has informed the press that by the end of 2007, roughly 7,000 PlayStation 1 games will be available for download for the official PS1 emulator set to be introduced in a future firmware update. Now that's a lot of hours of gameplay to be had, and a lot of potential income for Sony. Reselling out of date software, just what a technology conglomerate could dream for!
