Okay, 1st of all that wont work, 2nd it might no brick your psp if you switched it. 3rd if you switched it and it didnt brick it would read as "System Software Version" there would be no number, and with no number you would not be able to launch any update. The reason it does that is because the ipl in 2.5/2.6 checks to make sure it is the right version, so it wouldnt read if it was any other version.

Now, if you switched the index on a 2.01 it would work, cuz the only difference between 2.0 and 2.01 is that the tif is blocked, so technically the only downgradable firmwares with the MPH method is 2.0, and 2.01. 2.5/2.6 would either brick or read as "System Software Version" with no number, so you cant launch any update, not even the newest one.
