When you download an eboot such as 2.0 and open it with notepad it comes up with a bunch of jibberish but if you look up at the top it says psp 2.00 if you changed the 2.00 to 2.61 and tried to update a 2.60 psp it might think its updating to a higher firmware. I would test this out on my psp but I bricked it with the virgin psp thing.
