Daedalus PSP WIP Update - July 23rd 2006!

StrmnNrmn has just announced some additional progress on Daedalus PSP. Following the R6 release just short of a week ago, StrmnNrmn is back on track and has some outstanding updates on his progress posted in his blog. He has further optimized the dynamic engine, which has allowed for a whooping 7-10% speed increase as well as an outstanding 10-12% memory usage decrease in his latest unreleased version of Daedalus. On top of that, he has found and fixed several bugs that affected stability as well. He plans to release some additional information on his progress later this week, stay tuned at PSP 3D for more! Great work StrmnNrmn, good luck!

Here's what StrmnNrmn has to say in his blog:

"I've had a fairly productive weekend. I've been working on a few improvements on the dynamic recompiler, and I've managed to both decrease the amount of memory it's using (by approximately 10-12%), and increase the emulator's speed (by around 7-10%).

I don't want to get into too many details just yet, as I'm planning on putting together a more detailed post with all the gory details (and a few graphs) later in the week.

In a related change, I've also managed to identify and fix an issue (read 'bug') with the dynarec that may have been causing stability problems on v1.0 firmware PSPs. This may explain some of the differences in stability users of the different builds have been seeing."

Check out more information on Daedalus at StrmnNrmn's blog here.
