PSP games seem too short? Here's the reason... I've seen a few posts on people complaining about the length of games on the PSP. Here is what i have to say on the matter.
We've all seen it. The longer a console (handheld or not) is actually released, developers will find better, faster and more efficient ways to create games (eg, better graphics, longer gameplay, etc). For example, have a look at one of the first Playstation one (PSX) games - WipeOut, then have a look at something like Medal Of Honour - Underground (which isn't even one of the later games to be released). The graphics a noticeably better, and game content is much larger.
This is, mainly, due to Wipeout using only about 200MB of a CD (pretty sure its around there). When a new console is released, developers wil hurry to release new games for the console, especially when the developer for the console pays money to certain developers to do so (usually always happens). I just found out then that a UMD can hold up to 1.8GB of data. Does anyone know the size of, say, GTA : LCS? The size of the ISO even. I've confirmed from a few sources that the UMD can actually hold 1.8GB.
So, in conclusion, when the PSP gains popularity and sale counts (providing it hopefully will), the quality, gameplay and lastability of games will definately improve.
Peace
