Hey everyone! My name is Jeremy David Steinert! Now you have my name without having to look it up with my mac address!
Just becuase they have your name doesn't mean they can steal your identity. Also, IP addresses don't corrolate to real adresses. Using my ip, I can find out that.....my isp is ucsd.edu, and the network admin's phone number. Yes, with someone's mac address, you can find out their ip. But you can't get any importiant information about them. Even thier real address (if given; if you are on comcast or verison, it's not) doesn't help. What are you going to do, steal their mail? I'll leave a few playboys for you identity thiefs.
It is far easier to steal someones identity from the information they leave lying around. For example, in my sig is my FCC call sign (KG6VQW). Anyone with half a brain can take that info and get my home address right from the U.S. FCC website [
LINK]. Instead of worrying about your mac address, think more about the other info you leave lying around.
