That happened to my psp to.. fw 1.5, I just pressed lightly on the back of the umd drive with my palm (hand, right?) and it read the disk then, but I only used it to boot isos, because it could constantly read the disk to play it.
I just got it replaced in the store I bought it, got a 2.01 back
