You Post The News!

Ever since the first week of PSP3D.com's existance (yeah, to some of you it feels like ages ago), we aimed to make PSP3D.com one of the most member-intuitive PSP communities on the Internet. We even allowed site member's to post news directly on to the homepage! Unfortunately, that idea failed as certain individuals strived to abuse the system, and post hateful and/or inappropiate content. However, a new system has been built that will reinstate that member news posting capabilities, but limit them to prevent cheating and abuse.

As you can see above, there is a new section in the forums labeled "Member News". This section is open to all member's, allowing users to help contribute to the site's news by posting the latest PSP-related goodies in an area which other members (and moderators) will be able to critique and vote on threads.

As the sceenshot above points out, specifically for the "Member News" forum section, there is a new button at the bottom of each news submission thread called "Vote this news for homepage!". By clicking on this button, users and moderators who feel the respective news item is homepage-worthy will be able to express their thanks, and reward the member news poster a better chance at hitting the PSP3D.com homepage.

As votes start piling up for a particular news release, a custom algorithm will move the thread automatically into the PSP3D.com homepage. If a moderator sees a news post extremely worthy, it may even be moved before the algorithm kicks in!

Both members and guests can see all the latest member news directly on the left side of the homepage. If a title strikes your attention, be sure to check it out and vote for it to be moved to the actual homepage news section.

Members who contribute to the site's news will be rewarded as well! Unlike other forum sections, new posts in the "Member News" forum offer substantially more points, which can then be used in PSP3D.com's Point Shop. In the future, there are plans to offer tangible items in the shop as well, such as memory sticks, games, and other PSP accessories, all which can be bought via points. But don't let the thought of winning prizes and forum upgrades win you over! By getting your news post moved from the "Member News" section to the homepage news list, you'll be credited with being one of the great contributing members of PSP3D.com, helping to make the PSP scene a better place. Everyone wins!
