Sony PSP consoles have now started shipping with a pre-loaded v2.81 firmware, so it seems. The consoles, with an out-of-box updated system firmware, are marked with the boxcode, "L".



In case you don't know, firmware 2.81 is the only current PSP system software that is incapable of executing custom code; (i.e. homebrew).

This means that everyone out there that wants a homebrew-capable PSP, buy one now, before your local 'Walmart' or 'GAME' starts selling them!
