Yes, Mac OSX is based on Unix, but this is Linux runing on a Mac. I don't mean OSX is based on Linux, I ment that Yellow Dog is compiled for a Power PC CPU. Power PC refers to the type of CPU in the computer, not the operating system on it. I was also differing from the Intel based Macs. A quick search on wikipedia will clear things up:

Saying that a Power PC will only run OSX is like saying a MIPS will only run the PSP F/W, when my mp3 player uses a MIPS core.
