Ridge Racer 2 Demo, Now Playable On 2.71!

With the release of the Ridge Racer 2 demo, many of us were unable to play it, as the demo required firmwares without homebrew capabilities. Not only that, but almost all new UMD games will also require 2.80+. Well, luckily, Dark_Alex has stepped in.

Yes, Dark_Alex has just released a new decrypter, which decrypts the DATA.PSP file of the Ridge Racer 2 Demo. Sounds complicated, doesn't it? Not at all! Using simply a PBP "unzipper", such as PBP Unpacker, you can easily replace the DATA.PSP file. Then, run the decrypter test with firmware 1.50 kernel. After, that, the program will place a file named "DATA_OUT.PSP". This is the DATA.PSP you must use to rebuild the PBP file. After that, just manually edit the SFO with a hex editor. Replace the 2.81 with 2.71, create the PBP, and you're good to go!

Anyways, enough with the instructions. Unfortunately, this program will only work with Ridge Racer 2, no other demos. But be sure to watch out for more releases! Okay, I'll shut up. Here's the download.
