iR Shell: Special Edition Coming Soon!

Ahman, the famous coder for the popular homebrew shell, iR Shell, has given word on a new release of the application! Yep, seems as though you can't keep a good coder down. After telling us he would drop development on iR Shell, we were looking towards other coders to keep the project alive. Apparently, he just couldn't resist seeing it go.

The new version is planned to be released as "iR Shell: Special Edition", and of course, it will come with some impressive new features. Certain testers have already recieved beta versions of Special Edition, which have built up to it's near final release.

New Features Planned for Special Edition:
- Fourth brightness setting option. Normally, this is only available when plugged in the AC adapter. This can be activated with L+R+Brightness.
- Redirection of PSP keypad to PC keyboard or joystick via USB.
- Can now leave UMD in disc tray when exiting to XMB. If UMD Video, it will automatically play. If UMD Game, the autoplay function will not run.
- Use custom BMP or PMF video as a splash screen. This will be configurable under the iR Shell Configurator. (Included with XBOX 360 PMF)

As of now, there is no official release date, but keep your eyes peeled for word from AhMan, and be happy that he's finally come back to work on iR Shell, one of the greatest homebrew applications available!
