Well for one, updates
never come out at midnight. There isn't a guy sitting behind a green "GO!" button, popping open a bottle of champagne, as the clock strikes 12 A.M., PST. They're out living their lives on a Friday night!
Also, I can verify that this was a reliable source. It's from the official Sony site, how could it not be? Updates "begin" on the 11th. Doesn't mean it will be 100% released on 11th. If things go smoothly, then yes, it will.
