Lightbulb XMB Shell v1.0

Hahahahaha.......! Sorry bout that...

But seriously... i wanted this thread to catch the eye to get peoples feedback. So please read on.

I think the XMB is a rather intuitive interface - Sony must think so too, because they decided to give the PS3 an XMB. But, who agrees with me when i say that i think the XMB is the nicest interface of any shell we have seen for the PSP, despite how simple it is? It may be basic, but it is clean, intuitive, and very easy to navigate...

I've been waiting so long for a way to mod the XMB icons, just to make it that more pretty. But one thing that i'd really LOVE to see is a somewhat 'basic' shell that is based on the XMB. Something that looks just like it, feels just like it, does exactly the same thing, and then some more. Why hasn't somebody started a project like this? I'm sure i'm not the only one who would love to see it! Here are some features that this shell could have...

XMB Shell v1.0 Features....

- Looks, feels and does exactly what the actuall PSP XMB does (perhaps with the exception of the PSP Web Browser, LocationFree player, and some other things that can't really be 'converted' easily... such as the Network Settings (to make a new connection)
- Rather than just a "Game" icon menu, it could be split into Homebrew and UMD (or maybe not....? see a point further below in regards to skinning)
- Subfolders in the Game/Homebrew menu, and much quicker updating of icons (we all know what i mean by that.... Scroll, wait... scroll, wait....)
- Extra features that we have seen in other shells, such as a text editor, a PDF viewer, ability to play XViD videos, file browser, etc....
- Ability to make playlists for the music (splitting up Music into a "Files" and "Playlists" section, with advanced sorting and display with support for more than 1 subfolder (i.e, a subfolder in MUSIC with no more subfolders in that folder), customizing the tags to view or even editing the tags....
- Full skinning / theming options, such as replacing the icons and menu labels (easily), as well as the ability to make full customization to the XMB menus (for example, a new menu, apart from game, called Homebrew... then sub options under that with things like Emulation, Apps, Games... etc... all of this could be editable/customizable)
- When launching an ISO or a Homebrew, the ability to play a custom gameboot, either one single common gameboot or one specific to that EBOOT... with no size/length limits.... And also the ability to play an intro PMF.... so you could have your firmware autoboot to the shell and it would look JUST LIKE the in-built XMB (because you dont see any of the 'real' bootup videos/screens when you have an autoboot EBOOT on custom firmware)
- Much more that i could mention but wont bother with...

Seriously.... who would be interested in this? Who would like to see this happen? Am i the only one who would LOVE to see a shell like the XMB but better? I wish i was a really good coder....
