Looks like Sony just doesn't get tired of releasing security updates! The new update is available on Network Update now. A so-called bugfix, it is still unclear whether or not the bug was of exploitable nature, or just a screw up in one of the many major new features that was added in the 3.00 firmware update released just yesterday. Could homebrew be closer than we think? As of yet, we're not sure, but this post will be updated with more information as it comes in.
Update:
It has been confirmed that the 3.01 is
purely a security patch, in other words, does not effect any features available in 3.00. Basically, Sony managed to find a 'security hole' which they deem a possible threat to the blocking of homebrew on the 3.00 firmware. Therefore, there is really no reason for you to update your PSP to 3.01, unless you just want to reduce your chance of using homebrew even further.
