As it's almost Christmas, we'd like to think that both the developers and users of PSP applications deserve something as a small gift. For the developer, it could be the satisfaction of thousands of people openly and happily using your program; for the user, it could be the joy of getting something neat to show your friends and family.
This release shan't disappoint. Dark_AleX, creator of the 2.71SE custom firmware, and developer of the DAX ISO loader and format, has raised the bar once again, as he releases the 3.02 version of his custom firmware, dubbed 'OE-A', as the first release.
This is no hack, it's a full release. And what a release! It features:
- 3.02 Custom Firmware - 3.02 firmware environment with 1.50 homebrew capability.
- Runs 3.02 vsh.
- Can run homebrew using 3.02 kernel.
- UMD Video region free.
- PSP kernel region selector.
- O/X button selector.
- WMA enabling option.
- Flash player enabling option.
- Pops (SCE PSONE emulator) - DRM protection hacked (Which means that you can now your game on more than one psp, and share them over the internet).
Wow, what a list! Not only do you get full firmware 3.02 features, the kernel has been practically re-vamped! The fact that the kernel can be switched from region to region really honks a horn, and the hacked PS1 emulator will hit a few spots with certain people, I'm sure.
To install, follow these instructions:
Generating the DATA.DXAR:
1. Copy the 'oeupdmaker' and 'oeupdmaker%' folders to '/PSP/GAME/' (unless you're using 2.71SE, in which case it may be 'GAME150'.
2. Get the firmware v1.50 and v3.02 Update EBOOT files in the 'oeupdmaker' folder with the names '150.PBP' and '302.PBP' respectively.
3. Run 'oeupdmaker' from the GAME menu in the VSH. This program will create a file called DATA.DXAR in the same directory (oeupdmaker).
4. The program will verify that the SHA-1 of the generated file is correct.
5. Once that you have done this, you can save the DATA.DXAR file to skip this step in the future.
Flashing DATA.DXAR:
1. Copy the directories 'oeflasher' and 'oeflasher%' to /PSP/GAME (or /PSP/GAME150 if you are on 2.71 SE)
2. Cut and paste the generated DATA.DXAR from 'oeupdmaker' to 'oeflasher' directory.
3. Run the flasher from the GAME menu in the XMB. If your battery is less than 75%, the program will return an error and you will return to the XMB. This check can be by passed at your own risk by executing the program with triangle and [L] being pressed.
4. The program will continue to show an agreement. Press [X] to accept and flash the custom firmware, or [R] to cancel and exit to the XMB.
5. If you accept, the program will flash the custom firmware. Don't cut power or remove the memory stick.
6. Once finished, turn off the PSP and restart manually. You should be in v3.02 firmware!
Of course, all boring but necessary warnings about flashing to the PSP apply here. Also note that the PSP may occasionally yield a blue screen error, but just restore the registry and continue.
Have fun, and give Dark_AleX a big hand! Well done!

[Source] UPDATE: If you find a few bugs, try re-making and re-installing the DXAR update file. Then, restore default settings. This fixed my broken version number, and my internet browser freezing.
These aren't bugs - they're mishaps during the making of the DXAR, or incompatible registry files.
