I believe if you setup everything up correctly (easy downgrader sets it all up for you?) then you will have no problem successfully downgrading without bricking. It worked for Fanjita, and I would trust his results over any other. I have yet to try it myself, but as always, remember you are risking to potentially permanently damage your PSP!

I say go for it, though. Just make sure you read all instructions.
