There is NO way to downgrader from 2.82 to 1.5. You'll have to wait untill it is hacked, or untill and of the higher firmwares are hacked. Sorry, buddy.
I know this is an old thread, but might as well make a few points about it:
@Bono's post - The main difference is that the use of the X and the O buttons are swaped. Other then that, no other major changes.
@Asizlle's post - The reason there is only a 1.50 JAP updates is that all US PSP's are 1.5 and above. Sony released the PSP to the US after the 1.50 update, and so they updated all those PSP's before they shipped. There is no such thing as a 'virgin' (not downgraded) firmware 1.00 US PSP.
