EDIT- What is the src file used for? its in the zip but the manual doesn't tell me anything about it? do you not even use it?
If you can read it will not "brick" you precious psp.

I flashed my new 3.03 down with the n00bz downgrader and then up back up to DaX 3.03 OE-C. All without a hitch. N00bz files here!

The "src" file as you called it is a directory with the source for all the apps used in the downgrade. So if you are a programmer you can see how n00bz did it. Or if you wanted to compile the apps yourself you could do that too.

You will need a couple of extra files, the 1.50 eboot and the 3.03 eboot to upgrade, but you only need the 1.50 eboot to downgrade.

Check the theaceoffires tutorials for complete and thorough instructions!! here for UPgrading instructions.
