These ".mtptheme" files are UHA-packed archives (similar to ZIP or RAR, but completely free to use and provides excellent compression) that contain an INI text file with relevant theme data, which tells the MTP engine exactly what to do.
...As well as setting up MTP for the current machine, this phase performs a "~DEFAULT~" backup and creates a TINY .INI file on the PSP flash0 so the program knows that this PSP is backed up and safe to mod (firmware is OK and such, see below).
...Full firmware checking - the program is HIGHLY recommended for 3.03 OE-C users ONLY, but it will provide warnings if the detected PSP is a certain firmare that has limited modding capability, and will also quit if it is not a 3.xx OE-x firmware.
...Deleting and/or creating a backup will update the "Restore a Snapshot" section of the GUI, and the program recognizes which slot is occupied or empty so a proper delete/backup/restore task can be performed.
...[~] A Documentation / author notes option for each theme that is installed[*] A HTML page 'on-demand generator' module that allows the user to preview graphics (and possibly other resources) in a theme. This will generate a temporary HTML page (with rules/instructions taken from the themes' INI file) and open it, showing a list of mods in the theme, linking to an image or whatever...
...This means that you will have a 3.03-specific topmenu_plugin.rco file DECRYPTED, with all original 3.03 icons, that look NEARLY identical to the actual icons.
...Unlike any current "theme" software, the .mtptheme files CANNOT and will NEVER contain RCO files - they will instead have .DAT files of each graphic/resource, defined in the INI file, to be injected into an existing RCO.
