Sign a Petition against Jack Thompson

Here is a quote directly from the website:

Quote:
To: Florida Bar Association

We, the undersigned, do hereby request formally that Jack Thompson be given punitive action and, if seen fit, be dis-bared for his severe lack of professionalism, downright biggotry and stereotypical view of what is known as a "gamer".

Mr. Thompson seems to believe that video games are a form of training for killers or other forms of criminal activity. Whilst we do believe every human being has a right to free speech, we do not believe that one person's views should be forced on others nor should those views be utilised to defend stereotyping or biggotry of such a vague term as "gamer." We who are known as "gamers" are people from all walks of life, positions of authority, race, creed, gender, culture and nationality. While some people give a bad example to the rest of us, the whole should not be held accountable for the actions of a few troubled individuals.

We also do not appreciate the fact that Mr. Thompson very often lies about events and how they happened to back up his own views and comments. The recent actions regarding the website, Penny Arcade! - Revolting Even To Contemplate, are only recent examples of what seems to be a consistency of irrational and frankly worrisome actions taken by Mr. Thompson.

It is our view that Mr. Thompson is a very poor representation of what is a great organization.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
