It's because adobe can lose their trademark if it is to commonly used incorrectly.

If you say: I photoshopped this with MSPaint, you are using it as a verb and the trademark people can void their trademark if it is used to commonly like that.
That's what I heard somewhere, not sure how accurate it is.
