You can always do it manually w/out bricking it. Just follow the directions on this site PSP-Hacks.com / How to free space on flash0 easily.. Just be careful not to delete anything that you use or might use. Or anything else other than wat is said on the site. Note this works on all FWs! It worked great for me. I got like 3.5 MB free from this.
