Nintendo's been offering backwards compatibility on their handheld consoles since the original Game Boy, but they never officially included it in their non-handheld consoles before the Wii.

But I ask Sony this - if you can at least stick emulation in the European versions of the PS3, why can't you stick it in these ones?
