BROOKHAVEN, N.Y. -- Hafize Sahim, a 5-foot-4 store clerk, is standing tall in the face of a robber.
Police in Suffolk County, N.Y., said Sahim grabbed an ax and chased away a would-be bandit at the store where she works.
Sahim said a masked man came into the Southhaven Convenience store and demanded money.
She thought the gun was fake, Sahim said, so she decided to stand up to the guy.
The would-be crook ran off without taking anything.
