wait, sony is looking at "iso"s in the form of digital dl. Now i feel if i own the physical product i should be able to make a digital copy or receive one from sony for MY OWN PERSONAL USE. however you also have to realize the big difference of emus and actual h/b on cfw. emus still use copyrighted materials (bios, game files, etc) to function, some of which may be past copyright law limitations and others that are permanently protected. AS always the community will find a way around the problem, but will the other issues that give it a bad rap still be present?? of course they will and it will affect us all. i like how the intial ChickHEN did not allow iso, just h/b. that was a step in the right direction. with the release of the ChickHEN/cfw enabler i feel we took a step backwards. i feel companies have a right to protect their investments and software protection is their right. i would dislike being the ceo who helps develop a thousand dollar program retail at the cost of 3 milion r&d over 2 years to find it cracked and bittorrented for free and see the stat d/l of 300,000, if you do the math that figure would have cover "our" r&d costs. yet we have nothing to show. i hope this small example enlightens some of you. it is part of the reason some software devs got away from the psp. if security gets better (digi d/l only, sony encrypt, etc) then maybe we will see a 2nd software renaissance on the psp (the first being h/b). unfortunately i also do not see sony embracing some of the real gems of h/b that has been created such as the veiwers, editors, and actual games.
feel free to vent i hope i can help discourage i couple of d/ls.....
