Okay.
Yes, I'm a 'newbie' posting here but i've been watching the forums for several months. please don't flame.
I was thinking last night possible ways of downgrading 2.6 < 1.5 / 2.0, and a really really simple solution came to light. I tried it this morning.
Result: My 1.5 EBOOT no longer comes up "You can't downgrade, you have a later firmware version la la la". Instead, It runs. It does the nice PSP logo screen before fading to black for 2-3 seconds while it reads the memory card.
I then get the error message: "The game could not be started. (80020148)". Yes, my "UPDATE" folder is in caps.
My quick research on the interweb concluded that the firmware I was trying to load (irrespective of version number) was not for the right region PSP. Some users encountered the same message on their US PSP's upgrading from 1.5 > 2.0 on the Japanese firmware.
I might be on to something here, I might not. I've got a UK PSP Model 1003. If ANYONE has the UK firmware versions 2.50, 2.00 and 1.50 (MUST be UK, EU May or may not work, I dunno) suitable for PSP-1003 PLEASE email them to my address at
limpit45@yahoo.com.
Save the questions for now, Whether it works or whether it doesnt, I'll post my findings either way.
It was a quick 10 minute hack that might, MIGHT be of help. If it does, PSP 1.50 Downgrade will be available later.
So.. Does anyone have the UK PSP-1003 Firmware 2.50, 2.00, 1.50?
