syscalls probably, or else snes emu was designed to run in user mode.
dont forget, most homebrew was designed with -2.0 in mind, thus they used kernel programming, which gives better performance for less coding. (these homebrews were made a long time ago, in psp terms, so theyre out of date now, they didnt have an eLoader back then!)
as ppl start to develop using the new eLoader, they will code the programs to use a similar sound mechanism to snes emu.
