3.0: The end of firmware? Hackers have been increasingly resourceful in cracking frimware to get homebrew running to those who want it, but is 3.0 the end of homebrew?
I for one think yees. Not because sony will block all possible routes to homebrew and make all new gamses require 3.0 (well that too) but because they have taken a new route.
Reading the news, I saw they are planning a ps1/2 emulator for 3.0. Thats what I think will end homebrew. I mean what $0 budget home-coded game can compete with a library of sony classics?
People will get bored of trying to get the increasingly inferior homebrew onto 3.0, and it will die out. Sure, it was cool playing BOR, and all the 'famous' PSP homebrew games; you were getting something for nothing. But are you going to stick on 1.5-2.6 for your homebrew up upgrade and open up a new load of higher quality games? |
