well dont know if everyone has seen one, but heres a description of the dev kit:

basically a box with a dvd drive in, then a cable going from that to a psp without a umd slot, instead a plate where the cable goes in.

So heres my reasoning. Either:

1. The psp has the encryption still activated, in which case the box takes the iso from the dvd drive, emulates the encryption and lets u run whatever is on the dvd.

2. Or the firmware on the psp has the encryption disabled, and the box is just a dvd -> umd adaptor, emulating the encryption.

Now if it was the second one, then the firmware dump should have helped. But obviously not. So the first one is more likely, meaning the dev kit must emulate the encryption. So only way of helping would be to get hands on dev kit, look at the software or the hardware used for the encryption. Hell if its an industry standard chip that does it, even identifying the chip would help.

this one was written while was writing this one, so heres another thought.. if there is no encryption on the dev kit at all, then wouldnt you be able to flash a normal psp with the dev kits flash dump? thus making it encryption free?
