Well, if you didnt see that, I was brainstorming out loud some concepts for an online game where players from the PSP community log in and have a customisable, online world.
Well, my original ideas were slightly flawed, as the concept was too broad, and my C++ skills were insufficient.
Well, I have begun work on the 2d engine to power this game, codenamed 'world.' World is not the most sophisticated engine, nor is it the most graphically pleasing; it is an engine designed to match the style of the 'South Park' cartoon!
I felt that this would allow the best comprisise between cusomisability, updateability for the dev's, and finally speed of development.
But, if I know what Im doing, what am I posting about?
Well, firstly to evaulate the response. Im not very far with the engine, because its a pretty huge job. I want to see how much people want this game.
Secondly, I need lost and lots of helpers. Any skills are useful, drawing, GFX, imagination, SFX, lua coders, the whole thing. We need people en-masse to design a functional world, with everything you would need; Hospitals for when your avatar gets sick, places to hang out, places to do things, things to do. All this needs working on.
My plan is this. I get as many people on board as possible.
The imagineers, together, doodle up a map of the world
Once that is sorted, each building needs to have blueprints draws.
For EACH ROOM on EACH BLUEPRINT, there will need to be 4 graphics made, one for each wall.
Next, the GFX crew is split in half. Half of them make elements to go in the rooms; furniture, pictures, decorations, and specialist object. The other half, using these objects, make up the wall elements and send them over to me and the coders, who incoperate them into the engine.
Finally, the server has its sofware written for handling logins etc, and we're in buisness.
So, what I need next is for people to start getting in touch. The teams will be structured with a head of department, assistant head, and general staff. I will need people wo dont think they can help too, to assist with the organisation.
I am setting up a phpBB as we speak, which will be the centre of operations.
All I need is your name, contact (prefereably email), skill area and skill level. PM, email, whatever. Ill send you a link to the BB, and you can get registered and on task!!!
EVERYONE is needed, no skill is useless, no team is too big. |

I do have some experience with Photoshop and Illustator so If someone tells me what to make I can see what I can do. Don't count on me too much because I just applied for a job and i have a good chance of getting it. If I get the job I don't know how much time I'll have to work on this. My email address is in my profile if you do decide you need me.
