decrypting can be done with the psar decrypter, we cant see the actual encryption code thats why all decrypting is done on the psp as it has all the decryption capabilities with a little help from psar dumper. as for custom firmwares they are all decrypted firmware files that have been modded and use the 1.50 bootstrap to allow usage of unencrypted\and modified modules to load allowing the loading of the SE or OE firmwares

Basicly, 1.50 becomes 3.02's pimp.

Hopefully he'll learn not to try and push quite possibly unconstitutional bills though the state assembly and then waste tax money fighting it in court. Plus, he has failed the bar exam 4 times . Disclaimer: These are my opinions, and I am wholy responsible for them.

The word you're most likely trying to come up with is either "decompile" or "disassemble." We can get the source code (in Assembly) of a program by running it through a disassembler like hintdis, ps2dis, pspdis, or IDA (a general-purpose disassembler). You'll have to understand Assembly to be able to use it, though; Dark_AleX does, and quite well, so that's why he's able to make custom firmwares.

I think it's in the pspdev Subversion tree somewhere; I'm not sure where though. You'll have to find it yourself.
