Computer Programing

HeyPSP3D.com
I have some questions about computer programing.
I have been wanting to be able to make my own programs, and stuff for the computer and my PSP. I have started to learn how the python interface works, and all that but the fact is i dont get it. I've watched videos and tutorials, and yes i understand it takes alot of time, and effort, hard work, learning, ect. But i have been patient with it for a while.

The thing is when you start a program, how do you know what to put down??? I dont get at all where you start. You could give me a line of code on how you started youre whatever project you may be working on but i wouldent know how to start mine? Maybe im just to young to under stand it
(15,im acualy 15 not 16) but anyways, yeah i'm a noob, im good at modding but i think it would be awesome just to learn how to program, and become a hacker(not a cracker) so i can improve my modding skillz. Im pretty sure you all know what i'm talkin about. Making my own programs and howbrew, to be able to actually mod by my programs and knowledge not others, and being able to put out stuff for other people to be able to use..you know?

I dont really ask for much, but over this summer i'm going to be in deep reaserch of both motors(kinda off topic lol) and computer programing. I'm starting off with python, and then moving up to C++ when i actualy know whats going on. So it would be awesome if anyone that knows how to program tell me so you can help me out with any questions i have! And hopefully you guys can give me some answers, especially on the how to start off your program. Thankz alot!!!

wait until youre 17, and go to devry university.

you can do it all online, or find a place near you to go to.

they cover whatever you want to learn, computer graphics, game programming, game design, graphics design, all that stuff.

I cant say that teachign yourself to program is impossible, but it is a lot harder than learning through a school that is meant to teach you

if you choose to take this path, its an actual 4 year college. make sure you have a college fund.

if you choose to take the path of teaching yourself, id start off with BASIC. good old BASIC. dont do visual basic, new basic, or any of that, its more advanced.

download an atari 8bit computer emulator or something, that comes with atari basic.
things like "hello worlds" are, well, basic.

10 PRINT "hello world"
20 GOTO 10
RUN

after you can create simple games and such with basic, go on to something a little more advanced to make more advanced games, euphoria, pascal, fortran(is this still used?), visual basic

after you got something along those lines down pretty good, go on to c, c++, c#, etc.

Actually, python is what taught me the most about programming. The thing is, there just isn't a place to start (of course its usually good to start by declaring variables). You have to look at the big picture and break it down. If you ever need help, you can hit me up on AIM/YIM/MSN, I'm usually on.

Programming for the PSP is mostly in C, with a bit of a twist added. I highly suggest learning C and C++. I started with C++ and had very little difficulty doing so. Two great resources are C Programming and C Plus Plus. C Programming deals with both C and C++ while C Plus Plus only deals with C++. Those two sites are a great place to start.
