But his idea was probably just the old MS swap method, which has broken many PSPs to date, and downgraded none.

Yep, it's old.

I think his idea was to actually deconstruct the update eboot and recompile it with 1.50's files, which, of course, would not work.

Had a 2.5 US PSP Phat but downgraded to 1.5 then upgraded to 401 M33-2+150 kernel w/1GB,512MB,32MB,4GB memory,GTA:LCS,and GTA:VCS.
