I'm thinking there is a possibility of sony having put on an extra security feature that only allows you to upgrade if there is a certain string or sfo file of some sort that has the next update number on it. AKA it won't allow ANY update of any type such as 2.7 2.8 or 2.9 or something, but only 3.0 as they (possibly remember...) knew that that would be the next big release. This would confuse the hacker community for a while.
Not just that but there has to be something to dump everything out, a way into the psp itself while its running. such as a poison to infect it. Some method of catching every single call or paremeter as the psp is running.
-my 2 cents. |

-my 2 cents. | I have something to add to your second idea. What if there is a spot on the motherboard that is the key to unlocking the possibilities of hardware mods? I have a feeling that sony included some type of connection for their programmers to fix a messed up motherboard or a bad flash on one of the chips. If there is such a thing present on the board, I hope it can be found soon. |
