| | Member | | | | | the most difficult part wouldnt be the decrypting but infact coordinating data and assigning tasks to the thousands of PSPers PCs out there. We'll need someone who has some idea bout distributed computing...

| | Member | | | | | the distributed part wouldnt be to hard to do, could do most of it in mysql. You would have some computers generatating the sequences of keys and updating them on the database, and then another series of computers would be assinged ranges of these keys by the server to test, and then return results.
the only problem would be the fact that we're talking about hundreds of millions different keys, so the storage on the server would have to be pretty damn serious.
I did something similar to this for a sudoku puzzle generator, which generates puzzles then updates to an online mysql server database using a php interface. |

| | Member | | | | Hmmm yeah then it would actually have some chance of working. but getting the brutefrce to crack the fw would be a real tiring job i imagine! Anyways, instead of bickering if someone had started this way back when 2.01 was launched then we wouldve been probably a lil further than now

| | Member | | | | hehe definatley.... so any idea on even the format of the key (hex, bit length etc) and how you would actually test each key? thats the real bitch of the whole program. would you somehow apply it to the firmware and see if contents are readable?
I really dont have a clue how you would implement the decrytion phase of this project. If i could get some help or even just pointers in this department, would be quite interested in doing this, sounds like fun.... |
