Points: 41.13 Donate | | | 2.01+ Flash0 Access discussion This is the obvious way to downgrade, get acess to flash0.
So, how do we do that? Well, we can't at the moment. And as far as I can tell, people sorta tried tricks to get round it, but nobody really mentioned WHY it was read only.
So, I got thinking, about how files are read only. Im no developer, but importat read only files, like the SAM password files on windows, are read only by having them constantly open, giving the 'is being used by another person or program' error.
Anyways, Im thinking there has to be somebody here who can figure out how the files are read only. If we know that, then we can be on our way to getting round it. |

| | | | This sounds very interesting, but exactly how would we get all the flash0 file properties?
It just seems like another "good idea" but not the real solution. But I do agree that it may be possible to get around the read only if we knew everything about these files inside flash0.
I really would like this to work but it still seems like a shot in the dark. |

Currently, we dont have administrator access. We just dont have access to the files, its against the security policy of the psp for the user to access those files.
its not that they're 'read only' as such, its just we're logged in as a user, not an administrator and dont have acccess to the files.
if that makes sense.

That would take a lot of time for Sony to repair, I think they would use an easier method that wouldn't require any dismantling of the PSP to save time and money. |

Cant we get linux to boot up and write to flash0 from there?
Just an idea.

ps:sorry for my bad english | I'm pretty sure they have a developer kit of some sort which allows them unlimited access to the PSP's firmware/hardware capabilities.
