Random Numbers in C

Could someone help me with how to create random numbers in c code for the psp please. some examples that would help are getting a random number from a set range like 1 to 50.

Thanks a lot, i was needing that for a game im coding which i hope to release soon!

Edit: In One tutorial it required me to generate a seed and other variables, this example is so much easier!!!
Can i replace the 50 & 1 with other number ranges?
