Arrow Castlevania The Dracula X chronicles Review

I have been playing this game a lot and even though I haven't beaten it yet I think it's time to review it but this review will be different. since it has two games in one I will review both games then give it an overall rating. Here we go

Rondo of Blood
The gameplay wasn't bad. Richter's moves were very limited though. he could only duck, jump, use sub weapons and use his whip. Not like in Symphony of the Night where he could also slide and do more. I liked the fact that you could also play as another character named Maria once you free her. Who can do more than Richter. She can double jump and slide which actually makes her a decent and slightly better choice of the two players. Another cool thing is that you can unlock the original game only released in Japan. It also features a very cool boss rush mode which allows you to play against a friend as well as solo and the game features a chapter select option plus hidden stuff in the levels.

The graphics in this remake of a Japanese exclusive game were pretty impressive especially in cut scenes. Some may argue the graphics aren't that good but that is because it has the Castlevania graphics. It looks like Castlevania. Especially if you're familiar with Symphony of the Night.

It has a great soundtrack. Great music as you play through the levels. This makes it great to listen to as well as play plus it has an option to play any of the music you hear through the main menu. Some special soundtracks have to be unlocked through gameplay though.

I gave Castlevania Rondo of Blood a 10/10

Symphony of the Night
The first thing I want to say is it plays just like the original game for the Playstation 1. The gameplay is awesome in this remake of a great PS1 game. It has all the weapons and moves from the original game. It is a remake of the Japanese version of the game so Maria from Rondo is also available to play as. The other way to tell is the dialog is different. All the exchanged between characters are different than the old PS1 version of the game but they sound better I think like the exchange between Dracula and Richter at the beginning of the game.

The graphics are just like the PS1 version of the game but they are good don't get me wrong. As you travel through the Castle there is so much detail in the background and every part of the castle is different which I like and which makes every part of the castle unique.

I was impressed with Symphony of the Night's soundtrack back when i first played it on my good old Playstation and the soundtrack still impresses me on this remake of a great sounding game.

I gave the remake of Castlevania Symphony of the Night a 10/10

Overall
This is a great UMD to have especially for a die hard Castlevania fan like myself. I give Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles a perfect 10/10 rating.

I might pick this game up. Mostly for Symphony of the Night. My friend lent it to me originally so it would be nice to own it.

That's alright. The other game looks pretty sweet any way.
