I just built my own!
Works like a charm too.
All you need is the 4-connector 3.5mm headphone jack. I'm using my Labtec headset with it now and didn't even have to "chop" my headset cables. Everything just plugs into the special adapter I made.
Don't waste your money on the Sony one if you already have a headset for the PC. Costs about $10 with full stereo too.
Go to any electronics store and find one of those "camera-to-RCA" cables. It should have the 4-connector 3.5 mm plug you need. Then just buy one of those "connect-two-headphones-to-one-3.5mm-source" adapters.
Cut the plugs, splice it in and you're money.
www.pspupdates.com gave me the idea and they have pics of what you need.

Question

I have a quick question about the headset.
Do you need the remote that comes with the psp to use it?

I read a review that says you do, and i, um, don't really have that remote, because my friend never gave it to me when I bought it from him. I'm gonna go ask him for it anyways, because I want it.

*EDIT*

Well, I got the game today, and I looked at the headset and found out I do need the remote.... Guess I gotta go over to my friend real soon.
