Points: 25.91 Donate | | | i'm not talking about that, i'm talking about trying to keep it in the ram during the update, so that we can rune unsigned code after the update. isn't the 2.60 kernel exploit working on newer firmwares aswell?? the only problem i shtat we have no way to start it. if we leave it in the ram so that we can start it after the upgrade, and edit the firmware so that it'll be possible to run unsigned code. |

The reason is that the PSP does a hard reboot after each and every change to the Flash0 sector, to allow changes to take effect, much like with Windows and automatic updates. Hard rebooting clears the RAM so that everything is loaded freshly. This is why the "No-kxploit" hack didn't work after a hard reboot, and neither does Devhook.
Planting a file in the Flash won't work either; It needs to be executed. Any authentic Flash files are over-written.
So, it looks like updating thwarts all possible methods of keeping all lasting factors from the old revision.
