PSP mod chip

Well since my PSP just got bricked 2 days ago I've had very strong feeling about buying the PSP Modchip. What I was wondering about is it as great as it sounds? For 229 dollers, is it really worth it? It would be great to have 2 firmwares so no downgrading. I was just wondering.

psp modchip are very hard to install need precision equipement for the job, true they have to flashes in them but the easiest option is to buy a new 1.5 mobo of the net. p.s. how did you brick it if it was nothing to vital i.e. fonts, boot movie etc you could have added a safety meassure to unbrick it with the p.o.c. or other such "custom firmwares", but it has to be installed before its bricked

I bricked it while trying to downgrade. I started it then I left the room and when I came back it was off and bricked. I was thinking of getting a 1.5 motherboard but I can't find anywhere.
