what are the chances

what are the chances if I send my psp to sony and I will receive it back with a lower firmware...is this possible AT ALL? I would say maybe something doesn't work. I'm just curious because the other thread about the guy who swapped his psp for 5$ for 2.00 there was someone who said maybe he sent his psp to sony and got back a lower firmware.

(It had some 2.8 homebrew but I deleted it, and currently has the psp anti theft)

I don't think Sony will do that and could you show me this thread you talked about because I don't remember ever reading that.

If they repair your PSP, you will most definitely have 2.8+. If they give you a new one, you may have a lower firmware.

Right because if they give you a lower firmware that may allow you to use homebrew and Sony is anti-homebrew which sucks.

There's a possibility that you may be able to pick up a lower firmware PSP, since those are acquired from another storage facility all together, however, we are required to update the PSPs that are in for service.

Homebrew ain't that bad now, it's just the ISOs that are the problem!

PS3 supports Linux natively and the new 1.10 firmware allows homebrew - Sony plans to keep homebrew support for the PS3, thus perhap making it, technically, not 'homebrew' because the PS3 may become an open-source development platform... there is a chance that we will start to see Freeware and Commercial software for the PS3, whereas Homebrew is 3rd party software for a console that is not specifically designed to execute 3rd party code.... but the PS3 IS designed to support 3rd party code. Meh.. iv gone on for toooo long... lol
