you can use usbhosting the same as 1.50 can, through devhook. if you really want usb iso loading then why dont you give it a try and use the universal module installer, to me it just seems like a playstation and not portable if you need to take a computer with you

So I can use Devhook just like in 1.5?
And yeah, I use USB with two games.. not any other games because I only have 1 gig mem card, getting a 4 gig next month hopefully, so.. Until then, usbhost

Yes if you don't like it you can easily downgrade back to 1.5 and yes there is flashing involved since you updating your psp.

Yes devhook works perfectly on 2.71 SE I suggest you try it out.

Here's a kinda beta of my guide -

Installing 2.71 SE-B

Now, I'm gonna make things as easy as possible for you, so we're gonna use auto-installers whenever we can. Thankfully, the most difficult stage of the installation has an auto installer, which is very handy. Get the auto-installer here. It's a 50MB download, so it's gonna take time.

Anyway, once its downloaded, connect your PSP to your computer or put your MS into the reader, and run the .exe (It's virus free, from a trusted source and whatnot. I scanned it myself, with McAfee and AVG). Click Next, then Next again. You will now be presented with a list of choices of what to install. Select the second one down if you want Devhook, or the fourth if not. I don't really use Devhook myself, as SE has all of Devhook's features built-in, but if you want it, now is a good time to get it. So select your preference, and click Next.

Now you're presented with a box, asking you where your PSP's root is. Don't panic, this is easy. You know when you open your PSP in Windows Explorer to put stuff on it, and you have to say which drive it is? This is the same. So if your PSP is drive E:/ when it's plugged in, type that. If it's G:/, type that. Of course, get rid of the text first. Click Next, and it will install. Once it's done, disconnect your PSP, plug in your charger cable, and go to Game - Memory Stick, and run the installer. Follow the onscreen instructions. If you did it all right, it should update flawlessly. However, if it went wrong, it's not my fault, trust me.

Installing 2.71 SE-B'

You are now on 2.71 SE-B, but there's still two more steps to go till firmware nirvana. Download this file, and open it. If you can't, install 7-Zip (do a search). In the archive, open the folder PSP, the GAME150, but not the next folder. Put this folder in the location PSP/GAME150 (if it doesn't exist make it) on your MS. Run the install file on your PSP, this is much shorter than the last step's installation. You might notice the next step looks like this one - that's because they're so familiar I copied and pasted.

Installing 2.71 SE-B"

You are now on 2.71 SE-B2, but there's still one more step to go till firmware nirvana. Download this file (it's different to the one in the last step), and open it. In the archive, don't open any folders. Open your PSP's drive too, but don't open any folders. Drag and drop the two folders (PSP and dh) from the archive to your PSP's drive. If done correctly, a message should come up saying there's already a folder called PSP. Just click Yes to All. Now, on your PSP, run the SE-B3 (or SE-B") updater. This is about as quick as the last step.

Congratulations! You now have the perfect firmware! However, you might need to change a few settings to make the best use out of it as you can. Restart your PSP, but hold R as it's starting. You will get a blue screen - the recovery screen. Go to Configuration, and change your options to suit you. These are mine:

Skip SCE logo (enabled)
Hide corrupt icons (enabled)
Game folder homebrew (1.5 kernel)
Auto run program at... (disabled)
Use NO-UMD (enabled)

I highly recommend you to use those settings. Congrats! You have finished your quest for firmware nirvana!

Nope, you can delete the GAME150 folder completely.

Just thought i'd add this..

dorkdork777, you mentioned that it's recommended to have the "No-UMD" option enabled. Although this is handy to use as you dont have to worry about a UMD in the drive, it is experimental and untested. A few games do not boot up at ALL (one being Burnout Legends), and some games COULD randomly freeze.

I used to use No-UMD as soon as SE-B'' came out (didnt even have SE-B' when it came out, i went straight from the first B to the third), and since suing No-UMD my Dungeon Sige: Throne of Agony ISO locked up and i haddn't svaed for nearly an hour. I was pissed.... tried it again, saved right before it looked up the first time, and it kept doing it. After turning the "No-UMD" option back to the DEFAULT "disabled", and popping in my PSP Demo Disc, the ISO worked fine.

This has been the ONLY problem in SE firmware that i could not overcome - the problems with ISO's in No-UMD mode (the other problems being some EBOOT's that required simple SFO modifications). I might try it again when SE-B''' comes out, but until then i don't see any downside to having the demo disc in the drive.. apart from the extra crap in the game menu. Besides, with the "Skip SCE Logo" option set to ENABLED, the UMD in the drive will NOT auto boot anyway.

So it is handy to have it enabled. But as the readme says, the No-UMD mode is EXPERIMENTAL and UNTESTED and NEW (so i guess you could call that feature 'Beta'). So i just thought i'd mention that.. so don't chuck out or sell all ur UMD's just yet (lol) - if you ever have any freezing or booting problems with an ISO in the SE-B ISO emulation, turn the "No-UMD" option to DISABLED and PUT UP with a UMD in the drive.

Sorry for the long post. Just thought i'd point that out. Peace.
