"my psp got stolen today " Part 2

*Read "my psp got stolen today " if you haven't yet. as of now, its on the second page

Alrite, so i started this thing in school not a while back where i would "rig" peoples psp and put remotes, irshell, devhook, and other "psp hacks" on it for 20 dollars.
people have been bringing their psp's to school lately and i just received a psp from someone who i believe is the one who stole it. he was in the locker room and period in the locker room when my psp was stolen. the psp he gave me has some signs that i believe its mine
first of all:
it has the crack in the bottom center where the screw is but it seems that it had gotten longer all the way up to where the 'S' is on the 'PSP' on the lower middle of the system. the UMD tray is also a bit lifted on the left side just like mine was.

now i need evidence that it is mine. is there anyway that i could check out what his ip is from his memory stick? it looks like he exchanged memory sticks with the 1 gig i had with a 32mb psp he had. all it has in his network settings>infrastructure>information/edit was his name he uses for his SSID and his IP is shown as automatic.

i also tried to see if the bar code on the bottom of the psp matched up with the codes on the box but it didnt. i dont think they would.

any suggestions on:
getting his ip thru his mem stick?
or any other kind of proof i could get that would let people know that it was mine? and how?

thanks

Check the username of the PSP - if he's a total noob, he won't have changed it.

yeah ive tried that,
it seems that 2.60 was the latest firmware update that you could get at around the date my psp was stolen which was on October 25, and if that is correct, he could have installed that firmware on in order to go on the internet.

then he went on the internet with my memstick in with my psptheft program which sent me his ip.

but it looks like he went under settings and defaulted my psp again to clear any traces that it was mine.
and if it is my psp, he switched out my memstick

unless the thief iz a serious Hax0r(and I doubt that, cuz he would have caught ur psptheft program n got rid of it), then yes, the MAC address of ANYTHING network-able is meant to be permanent. w/o the MAC address in ur hands, it would be impossible, so meet up w/ this kid, tell him some BS like there is a serious flaw with the homebrew, and it runs the risk of bricking the psp. (then explain to the n00b what a bricked psp is). carefully study the facial expression of the kid, and if he has an "I could give a S#$%" look on, the this raises the chance that he is your culprit. with the psp in ur hands, write down everything you possibly can. This concludes phase 1.

Next, check the ip address u pot from pspthief and see if the isp can give you a
MAC address to cross-reference. possible match? if it does, u got it! crush him!
I know this is a bit of a long-shot, but it's always worth a try.

Sry bout the book, and the psp. All my plans come out complex.

Like the other one, say you had illegal files on your Memory Stick, and you're glad you lost it before the police tracked you down. Then leave the PSP in a spot he can see it. He'll probably switch it back.

well before he gave me the psp, he made me follow him to his locker so he could give it to me, and the whole time i followed him he kept looking back to see me, liek he was nervous, as if, if he should give it to me or not.
and anything that concerned the psp he had while i was around he looked kinda uncertain.

about the isp and cross-referencing. do i contact optimum online via phone or email asking them for the ip's mac address? i dont get how to do that.
and optimum online is their ISP.

i guess he gave me my psp to like use psychology on me. he wanted it to seem normal that he was doing it too since everyone else was. and he wouldnt suspect me noticing my own psp. if you get what im saying.

i got the person who im accusing stole my psp or had possesion of it's IP address.

*NEWEST UPDATE
IMPORTANT

i talked to one of his friends to get me his ip. i gave them the site ipchicken.com to use to find out their ip.

check this out....
IP received via E-mail: 67.80.60.5
IP received from accused: 67.80.55.53

notice anything?... i thought about this for a second and noticed that the last 2 pairs were rounded to the nearest tenth (10th).
i was wondering and i wanted to make sure if the 2 IP's had any connections and is it possible that they are the same one.
could the router have had an affect on it?
please respond ASAP. im planning on talking about this with the person who is buying it from the thief, and the thief himself, and probably the school staff/counselors.

info on the two IP's i have and how they could be related and why it happened, please.

thank you so much for all you guys who helped me on this matter from the beginning and even those of you who just started to help

dude this sucks and since the last numbers are the same it could be that the router got configed or something or it could even be a whole different person

well u should check more info on both ip's before u confront him...
dude this is y i have a custom antitheft system for my psp i added a couple of bat files and exe files that i made and it destroys the theifs system32 lol and it sends me their ip address i just thought that ip tracking wasn't enough so i steped it up a nauch well if they were smart they wouldn't open the psp's memory stick on their pc without formatting it but lol most ppl don't know there is a pspantitheft system or wat reformat does
